SRUK/CERU Lifetime Achievement Award

    The Society of Spanish Researchers in the UK (SRUK/CERU) is pleased to present the first edition of the SRUK/CERU Lifetime Achievement Award. The objective of this award is to recognize the career of a senior researcher who has had a prominent role in the advancement of research and has promoted scientific collaborations between Spain and the United Kingdom.

    Requirements for candidates: The criteria for this award will be a researcher with an extensive scientific and internationally renowned career who has been instrumental in the advancement of science in Spain and in the UK. In addition, he/she will have had an important role in the development of one or more of the founding objectives of SRUK/CERU. Any direct contribution to SRUK activities and initiatives will also be assessed.

    Nomination of candidates: Candidates for this award may be nominated by members of SRUK/CERU, partner institutions and by the SRUK Awards Committee. The documentation required is:

    1. A summary of the candidate's career including affiliation, telephone and email.
    2. A plea for the nominee explaining the reasons that make it worthy of the prize.

    The two documents should be sent in a single pdf file to awards@sruk.org.uk.

    Evaluation of applications: Candidates will be evaluated by the SRUK/CERU Board of Directors, which may appoint a committee for this purpose comprising members of the Board, Scientific Committee and Honorary Members SRUK/CERU.

    Prize: The winner will become an honorary member and a distinguished advisor of the society. The awards ceremony will take place during the SRUK/CERU annual symposium.

    Deadline for submission of nominations: June 15, 2016.
