    3rd International Symposium SRUK/CERU

    Like in previous years, this event presents the most recent scientific advances and studies made by Spaniards in the UK. At the same time it serves as a meeting point for personal and business relations between our scientists. In addition, as all SRUK delegations established in different cities of the UK meet for the symposium, a general assembly of the organization is held, where the new president and some directive positions get renewed.

    CienciaUK 2015

    The 27th of November took place in Madrid a workshop focused on career guidance for academic research and other science-related professions. 13 speakers reported their career paths and highlighted the differences and similarities between the British and Spanish systems of science and technology.

    Summary of the 4th SRUK/CERU Seminar

    The Cambridge constituency of the society Spanish Researchers in the United Kingdom (SRUK/CERU) organized the Fourth Seminar of the year, which focused on the topic Science Communication for Scientists. The event was held last September 28th at the Hughes Hall College, University of Cambridge and was attended by 60 people.

    Summary of the first PARSUK/SRUK meeting: "Cena Ibérica" in Bath

    The Society of Spanish Researchers in the United Kingdom (SRUK/CERU) together with the Portuguese Assotiation of Researchers and Students in the United Kingdom (PARSUK) celebrated its common meeting on 27th April. The event was hosted by University of Bath and had 37 attendees from both societies.

    Summary of the first Science in the Pub: “Cell phones, radiation and health” (Xurxo Mariño)

    The Society of Spanish Researchers in the United Kingdom (SRUK/CERU) celebrated its first Science in the pub last 19th April. The event, organised by the London Constituency, was conducted by Dr Xurxo Mariño, neuroscientist and science communicator, in the Audley Pub in London. Dr Xurxo Mariño discussed with humour, sarcasm and scientific evidence that the radiation emitted from mobile phones cause no damage effects to human health.

    The Society of Spanish Researchers in the United Kingdom (SRUK/CERU) celebrated its first event of the year last 9th February. The event, organised by the London Constituency, had around 60 attendees and was hosted at the prestigious King’s College of London. The scientific day comprised not only an informative session about SRUK/CERU with the official launch of its website, but also a scientific seminar.
